Alia "Ali" Rusu-Tahir is a classically trained Moroccan and Romanian actress, born in France and raised throughout Canada. Her mother is an architect and a writer, and her father, a computer science researcher. She is best known for playing Sasha in the psycho-thriller film, Kryptic, which premiered at SXSW 2024. She has also performed in a number of festival short films, most notably Passiflora, a queer love story screened at the Crazy8s Gala. She studied acting at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, where she received her BFA in 2021. She continues her studies at Terry Knickerbocker Studio in Brooklyn, New York. Her theatre credits include Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again, Problem Child, and Seven Minutes in Heaven, among many others. Ali is also a musician and a writer.
